Branksome Park Orangery
A contemporary addition to an existing Edwardian building in Branksome Park, made from natural materials.
The site is in the prestigious ‘Avenue’ conservation area, so care needed to be taken to use appropriate form, materials and fenestration to ensure a sensitive yet striking addition. The new construction is made largely from a natural materials such as timber-frame, wood-fibre, hempcrete and lime.

The arched openings are evocative of the local vernacular of the beach-architecture of Branksome Chine, as built by the Victorians.
The concept of the orangery references the former Branksome Tower's hotel (now sadly demolished)
